I don’t understand the attitude so-called gun nuts have about the lawful possession of firearms, having witnessed the figurative bloodbaths in our streets, homes, schools, churches, and places of worship. There is something wrong with people who claim they are responsible gun owners, but can’t explain why or how so many irresponsible people are able to get guns. I also find it odd, that people need to be vocal, or pronounce their “god given rights.” Seriously? Where is that written in your bible? Here’s my point. Drug and gun manufacturers make a lot of money peddling their wares to weak, gullible people. They spend billions of dollars telling you that their product will make you feel good or make you safe. The fact is, no number of guns in your home or on your person will guarantee your personal safety, protect your property, or keep your family from harm. The next time you leave your home for work or recreation, think about the kid next door looking for an opportunity to break into your house, and steal your guns, and your reluctance to report it to the police.

Everytown doesn't want safety or responsible use. Just plain banning what is probably the 3rd most popular item after the car and the cell phone. Just a political statement not a wish for safety.

Actually, more popular than the car. Many have the car because they need it for work. Very few people need a gun for work. There are far more guns than cars. Latest estimates put the number of guns at between 7 and 800,000,000 when their are only about 250,000,000 cars on the road.

Sgt Edward Allen - You are right that there are way more guns than cars. I guess I say the car is more popular than a gun because everyone has a car. Not everyone has a gun.
