Time to start reading TC 3-20.40 and create a unit training plan. 2021 promotion boards are going to be vacant when no one has a passing weapons qual.

Gotta train them to the needs of modern combat. Sounds like the old standards were outdated.

The . 40 is the training plan. Chapters one and two outline everything that units need to do. The appendix for each weapon system describes in detail how to run the range.

I would say what makes it so hard? Then I think about how many can’t pass the current qual course. .

Something that astounds me is how we have RCOs/ACOGs on our M16s and yet somehow Marines still flunk the soon-to-be obsolete qualification. In some circumstances I can understand why (such as being given a completely new weapon without zeroing it on qual day. Yes I saw that happen and I thought that was totally messed up.). Other times I think we should've kept using iron sights at least through someone's first year on active duty.
