Is it definitely possible for a soldier in the big army to try and get into the ranger regiment?

Is it definitely possible for a soldier already in the conventional forces such as the 1st infantry division or the 82nd airborne to get a spot at RASP 1? more specifically a soldier in the pay grade E1-E4?

Damn kid, Rangers are not grown in test tubes- seriously folks all across the Army try out for Ranger school all the time. Of course the best are asked to join the Regt.
