Shed no tears for Antonin Scalia: Let us not praise the man who gave us Citizens United and Bush...

Yesterday, we had a few scuffles about how I was such a horrible human being for saying that Scalia's death was a good thing. I'm not the bad person here: Justice Scalia is (or was.)
http://theslot.jezebel.com/a-brief-list-of-some-of-the-many-terrible-things-antoni [login to see]
Justice Scalia consistently demeaned people for the sexual orientation, the color of their skin, their gender, etc. He said that people of color should go to "slower colleges." He said that a woman didn't have a right to control her own body. He said that individual people had a right to own guns when even Alexander Hamilton said they didn't. He said that massive donations from Koch Brothers PAC's were "free speech," but then argued that certain types of sex could be outlawed.
Far worse, he supported the death penalty, IN SPITE of the fact that it has killed over 100 innocent people since 1976. He compared LGBT individuals to "flagpole sitters," believing that homosexuality was a form of "mental illness." He crowned George Bush as president, when Al Gore won the election. This has resulted in the deaths of several thousand U.S service members in a useless war in Iraq, but even worse, the deaths of MILLIONS of innocent Iraqis. http://www.globalresearch.ca/us-sponsored-genocide-against-iraq-1990-2012-killed-3-3-million-including-750000-children/5314461
I'm not the only one who couldn;t contain a smile on his face when Scalia kicked the bucket. Many other decent human beings, including people of color, LGBT individuals, and most of my generation-the future voters and leaders of the country, also breathed a sigh of relief.

And the cherry on top of the cake is that because Hillary Clinton is very likely to win this election, it will be her, and not a far-right republican, who will choose Scalia's successor in the Supreme Court. Although I would have prefered it be Bernie Sanders, or Jill Stein, or even Monica Moorehead who made the choice, Clinton's choice will be at least somebody with more common sense, human decency, and intelligence that Justice Scalia had.
Once again, Justice Scalia's death was good news, and most of the younger, more educated, more intelligent voters in this country feel that way.

You're not a bad person. I wouldn't say that about anyone who has served this nation. However, you are a very misguided person and acting like an asshole who insists on digging the hole a little deeper with each post. You vilify a person (a better person than you) simply because they disagree with you. I can't think of anything worse to say about anyone

PFC Harry Leuchen - do you know anything about CPT Gabe Snell's or my political positions? Have you seen either of us say anything about Clinton or Obama, or for that matter, BLM?
What makes you a troll is that you make assumptions about others without any knowledge of their background or beliefs, and the manner in which you post. You're disrespectful and rude, when you don't have to be. You don't appear to be here to discuss issues, as you typically post something outrageous, like this thread on Justice Scalia, and then you answer once or twice and are gone.
I'm willing to give you a chance, before I do what I do with most trolls, so if you want to have a decent discussion, we can start here. It's your call.

Capt Gregory Prickett - I care more about getting my opinions out than arguing with some people who have proven over and over again that they will never listen to what I have to say. By posting these points of view, I wish more to put the information out there for the users of RP, some of whom don't post, to see, instead of trying to have a five hour long debate.

PFC Harry Leuchen - I've got to give you credit for persistence. You're down 11 on this topic and I'm up 26 on my response to it. Does that tell you anything? Well, it tells me that one of us is out of step. Now, there's nothing wrong with doing your own way, marching to the beat of a different drummer, doing your own thing, but at some point you have to wonder: Am I missing something? Have you ever wondered?

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response, were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Look, I'm screaming liberal compared to many of the people around here, but huh? Disagree with Scalia all you want, but there's no evidence he did anything with malice. He had a framework of interpretation that took him to some uncomfortable places but he stuck with it. He also spoke highly of his ideological opponents on the Court. Yes, I disagree with him on a number of points but he brought balance to the court (A balance I believe should be maintained).
Also, reveling in his death while excoriating him for his position on capital punishment seems a touch nonsensical. Standing against capital punishment is asserting that all life has value - including the lives of those that we deem unworthy of it.
