The story of Henry Norwest, a Cree ranch hand from Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, and one of the most prolific snipers of the First World War. -----------------...
This is in honour of Corporal Henry Norwest. He was my wife's great-great-grandfather. He killed at least 115 Germans in the Great War. 1914-1918. He was killed by a counter sniper team in the fall of 1918. He is buried in France. He was Canada's number 2 sniper in the Great War. He was 100% indigenous Cree Indian. I am the American officer in dress blues present at the Remembrance Day, 2018 at Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.
