Could you fill out House Speaker Paul Ryan’s post card tax form? Would any member of Congress be able to?

Seems worth a shot to me. I can see the IRS & tax prep industry fighting tooth & nail to keep something like that from happening, but I can't think of any reason it shouldn't work. Seems almost too simple to work, though, with what I'm used to.

CSM Charles Hayden, Bill Clinton suggested even greater simplification!

CSM Charles Hayden, that's really the desired tax form that has the support of the Democratic Party. It's not changed in ages!

LTC Stephen C. Great! Can you imagine anyone in Congress recognizing it? Or - coalescing and actually voting on a simple solution?

LTC Stephen C. My hidden challenge was for an income tax form that members of Congress could understand and fill out themselves, for themselves!

CSM Charles Hayden Yes, it would be great. Let us put the IRS out of business. I spend many days every year doing my taxes. It is harder than it used to be, because you can not call the IRS with questions. They will only respond to questions about the 1040 form and Schedule D, which are the easy forms.

That's no joke. I had to hire a CPA to do my business taxes. I was a owner/operator so even the personal taxes were a bear
