I came across this Video and it piqued my interest to check it out... The question raised may seem like a ridiculous question at first blush, but think about it... China is swiftly moving toward setting up a Lunar Base and have already landed a craft on the Moon, Picked up samples of the regolith and have returned that regolith to Earth for analysis by Chinese Scientists... Japan has sent a spacecraft to an asteroid, Russia has the same goals as CHina and Japan, and is being followed by India...
What is the fascination with the Moon? Well, think about it. If a Moon base is created by China, for example, then they arm that Moonbase with missiles, laser weaponry, etc. It also would allow China to set up a more important Base to use as a springboard to Mars... Now I used China as an example, but it could just as likely be any Country with the technical wherewithal to create a Moonbase...
This video will dive into a plethora of other facts and reasons why we should create a Moonbase...
I hope you find it interesting and provides you with some information from which to think more about where we are going as a species... Yes, that's right, because we are on the precipice of space travel at least within the confines of our Solar System...

Sgt (Join to see) - Kerry, I completely agree with having a strategic lunar site! Primarily, nothing to do with what is going on here on earth, but what is zooming around in space. If we have, and one is coming, a large asteroid, the earth would have major issues. So if we could destroy or alter its trajectory - that would be smart, right? Just my thoughts!
