Honestly bossman, you aren't giving us enough information here. How long have you been in the unit, what specific examples can you give of your leadership being terrible, ect. Is it a specific leader? A few? The whole dang chain? The mafia wants to help but the mafia needs more info. Look forward to hearing back from you.

SGT Zak Baker, that was probably the best and most complete answer I have seen on RP. PV2 (Join to see), as long as you stay inside your chain of command this advice will serve you well through your whole life. SPC Baker, keep up the outstanding mentoring of peers and subordinates. I see great things in your future!

Man the Mafia as always nails it quick. Back up there PV2- what do you know of leadership? You need to grow in the service and with your CoC. As for moving- I doubt it will happen.

Great info all around, I would also like to advise that you document anything and everything that is happening this way if and when it is time to go to the chain you have dates and times to refer back to. Keep your head up and learn all you can. Good luck in your career, remember how you are feeling as the new private and make it a better army when you are in charge one day.

SGM Bill Frazer - Does the fact he is a PV2 mean he can not recognize good versus bad leadership? I will make the assumption that you, as a young soldier, were able to identify the good leaders around you and emulate their leadership styles, hence making yourself successful. I have a known a good leader from a bad one since the day I joined the Army and probably long before. If even half of what he is saying is happening within the DFAC then he is right, he has poor leadership. Every soldier deserves good leadership and if it is not being provided to them then that should be addressed.

You do NOT want to be moved. If you want to even finish your initial enlistment, asking to move on sketchy reasons will only "endear" you to your next units NCO's. Like stated below, handle it at the lowest level possible. Has your initial/reception and integration counseling been done? Your NCO should've outlined exactly what is expected of you professionally and personally. At 2.5 months there, you should've long had that in hand. Counseling's are to be done quarterly. You should also be coming up on one. That is a good time to lay it all out respectfully to your NCO verbally and if warranted, on paper with your rebuttal. That only protects you, and makes it seem you have a vested interest in your and the units success. IF and I stress IF the situation is that bad where you cannot take it, then you should use the units open door policy. It's there to be used, but man PLEASE be SURE you're in the right, you've tried EVERYTHING at the lowest level to get it fixed, even ask to be counseled again to reinforce what was said, and take it up your NCO support chain. Once it makes it to your PSG or 1SG, someone will listen, but if you aren't right, all hell is coming your way, and you will see and experience new levels of pain not seen before.

I understand the need to move is very important to you trust me I do but think and like some of the previous comments have stated handle af the lowest level. Sometimes it requires listening & by NO means an I saying that you are not listening. Take a moment to reflect on you and make sure you have all your ducks in a row. An example of that is are you doing the right thing as a Soldier such as weapons, pt & correspondence Courses. Put things on paper so you can articulate yourself with questions to ask. I hope you can work this out young warrior because there are NCO'es who still care and some who still love to mentor. Have a great evening & best of luck!

I don’t see any commander moving you because you don’t like your leadership. Unless there are other circumstances to move you I don’t see it happening. But hey, if you don’t ask you don’t get.
