The sophistication of civil disturbance in Chicago using umbrellas to hide themselves and where they were bringing shopping carts full of frozen water bottles and other weapons. One police officer has a broken eye sockets and as partially blinded and another has a blown knee cap. It really upsets me yet the mayor of Chicago is Mad the feds are coming in. 14 people people got shot at a gang related funeral.
The gangs talk to each other and they know they can get away with it now.

I fixed the typos. I was using voice texts.

I grew up next to Chicago in Milwaukee. Democratic Leadership in Chicago has been rampantly Corrupt and dishonest since at least the 1968 Convention if not longer and not a whole lot has changed since then. Thats a big reason why I was really leary of the DNC Convention in Milwaukee and Thank God for the Pandemic otherwise the Chicago leftists would have probably trashed Milwaukee. Both cities have a rivalry of sorts, Milwaukee has a reputation for being run cleanly and Chicago is just the opposite.

What a load of BS. The comparison to the Weimar Republic and Hitler is apt, but the players are reversed. The demagogue holding rallies isn't the Democrats, nor BLM, or any other leftist group, it's Donald Trump. The one who is not truthful? Again, Trump. Who is using force against peaceful protesters? And using secret police to grab people off of the street using unmarked vans?

And Stephen, when you say that you have acknowledged time and time again the problem with police brutality, that's just not correct. What you have done, over and over again, is to go on the attack against the protesters, trying to distract from their message, just like you are doing here. You label organizations as marxist when they are not. You are encouraging further racial unrest and you are encouraging violence against protesters, almost with glee, so you can blame the other side for wanting the protesters to be shot.

And, like the police officer's letter, this position is wrong. I can show you case after case where police were not prosecuted for questionable acts, and where police have not been held accountable. That's where the police officer's letter fails. He talks about the mission of holding criminals accountable, but not a word about holding police officers accountable.

Why not stand up and provide solutions for police misconduct, instead of making it worse?

Greg,
I believe you in the Police misconduct should be prosecuted. I have no problem with the feds protecting thier property. Going off the premises is wrong. Trump may be making mistakes but I see a double standard. If you were the OIC of the Feds, what would you do? If you were the Governor or Mayor of these cities, what would you do? I agree that the cell phone and video camera has been the best weapon ever to stop the good ole boys covering up Police atrocities. I did not include the Video on this discussion of the Columbus Statue attack. just scroll up. The Police cars were at the front and back to make sure nobody drove into the crowd. I am all for protests. We have not seen a kent state like shooting yet in which the Police did grazing fire to keep the mob pinned down or to kill them on purpose. I am just fed up that this is Civil Disturbance 101. I know you took similar training since the USAF has had issues with activists not liking your nuclear arsenals on European bases. The Mob has no right to decide to topple a statue.

The Solutions to misconduct are already in place. We have Police review boards. Someone is organizing these people. The media has rumors about them being paid by 1000 Currents/George Soros but nothing is proven. I do know that cities have been very patient. Seattle has been too nice. Unarmed National Guard and no use of less than lethal agents and the mob just gets emboldened. We cannot be Neville Chamberlain like the Mayor of Seattle. I am making an emotional plea to be situationally aware. You may think BLM is not Marxist. I have shown you videos from Angela Davis in 1972 and Angela Davis and Ms. Garza on Democracy Now! I am not agitating. I am just forwarding you what they have said in their own words. I feel as if you think I am the laughed at Winston Churchill in 1934 warning Parliament on how Evil the Nazis are after going to Germany doing family History and seeing the Brownshirts in Person. Everybody thought Hitler was a hero. He was Time Magazine's Man of the year in one or more years in the 1930s. I would not be surprises that George Floyd will be the Person of the year next year but Ms. Garza and other leftists will be the runners up. We can have honest disagreements. I know that President Trump's behavior and win in 2016 is part of that anger by the crowd. You can vote him out in 100 days.

My solution is to refund the Police. Have Police retraining. Have more money to hire better cops because all the ones that can retire are trying to get out. My Seattle PD Officer in my unit is tired of all the Overtime. Who knows, he may leave the department and go AGR in the Reserves. My devil's advocate paranoid mind thinks that maybe this is a calculated plan by Subversives to upend our political system. That is my fear.

If you were the Mayor of Chicago, the Mayor of Seattle or the Police Chief of those problem cities, what would you do?

LTC (Join to see) - the first thing I would do is to inform the federal police commander that his personnel will be subject to arrest for violating state law on unlawful or illegal restraint the next time they snatch someone off the street without probable cause.

The second thing I would do is dependent on the situation, and you know that. People who are destroying property or injuring people need to be arrested. Peaceful protesters need to be observed.

But all of that are the minor issues. The problem is that we do not exercise proper control over the police. The oversight bodies are typically a joke, with no subpoena power or ability to require that discipline be imposed on an officer, no ability to suspend or fire. Without that, it's just a circle jerk. Police misconduct needs two investigations, an internal one to see if policy was violated, and an outside (preferably state-) agency investigation of criminal issues. That investigation needs to go directly to a special prosecutor, and be heard in front of a visiting judge.

Finally, police should not be answering mental health or social welfare calls. That's not what they are trained to handle.

So on the opening fire question, I am amazed on that as well that nobody has given the order yet to use real bullets. Ronald Reagan would not have hesitated if he was POTUS. Curious why Trump is but I am OK with the delay is long as things do not continue to spiral out of control. What happened in that subdivision in St. Louis with citizens having to arm themselves is a failure of the State of Missouri to call out the National Guard and use deadly force. I think it is comming sooner or later as a result of avoiding use of force earlier I think they have to use it at some point now in the near future to regain authority and control. Hope I am wrong but we'll see. I saw a leading Democrat on Fox News explain that police and Feds should be able to pick between peaceful protestors and violent protestors in a mob and treat them differently. What an incredibly naive idiot that was. Your facing an angry mob violating the law and there are NO peaceful protestors, everyone there is guilty as the most violent person acting out in that crowd and the peaceful protestors should have the common sense to leave instead of stick around when that happens and if they stick around well they get the corporal punishment including the deadly force.

LTC (Join to see) - Of course I do not want to see looting and burnings. However, I do not relate that to the majority protest, which are peaceful, and which are Constitutionally guaranteed.
And if appears to you that I have put words in your mouth, I apologize. That is never my intent.

LTC (Join to see) - Last I checked the Executive Branch was elected and stands for election in just a few months. If the MSG has a problem with their actions he has the power of the vote. Even with the insurrection I am still not convinced Trump is who I should vote for. Democratic Party's lack of action here is pushing me to be more pro-Trump as it is others as well in my neighborhood as well as my extended family. We might see a Trump landslide because of this stupidity if it keeps up. The comments by the Speaker this morning I view as incendiary and encouraging more violence.

SPC Erich Guenther - I remember when Mayor Bradley was upset when the Officers were found not guilty in the Rodney King verdict. Mayor Bradley was a former Police Officer yet he said that people need to go out and do something! i recall vividly but it was conveniently not on the youtube videos of the Rodney King LA riots.
