My wife gave me a coin and it had the dates 1981-present. So I asked why present and she stated "your a Marine for life correct"? She also had the Michigan logo surrounded by all the Detroit teams. It was perfect!!

Warhawk BDE Commanders coin. It was my first pat on the back as a 2LT after giving a Illumination Class at the OP in the dark to the Mortar PLs, PSGs, Scout PL and PS for the BDE. I had to memorize the class with actual CFOs etc. I didn't even know COL Smith was in the black background observing and listening in.

We had the remote handset attached to the track thru the door. Accept for the map and red lenses on the flashlight it was just as dark as being in the middle of the ocean or Dessert. To truly show the candle power of Illumination rounds with HE( high explosive rounds going off you just have to do it in the dark!
