A Sergeant First Class in our operation section was the Police Chief of Everett Naval Base in Washington State.
Due to the nearby aviation museum being closed from the Corona virus, he was able to get me on board the USS Momsen DDG-92, a guided missile destroyer, that is there for maintenance.
Our group was made up of people from my army reserve unit. The man with the hat that looks like hes from a ska band spent 4 years on a submarine in the eighties as a radar technician.
In my group we also had another DOD civilian who is also a Major besides another Major who was in uniform.
A Navy Lieutenant Junior Grade (O-2) took us on a tour of the ship. I had to request permission to come aboard. I then walked up the gangplank and saluted the American flag or Ensign at the rear of the ship. The others did the same. They rang some bells on the ship and announced 'Lieutenant Colonel Conway, United States Army Reserve boarding'. This is an Arleigh- Burke class destroyer. It is meant to protect the aircraft Carrier battle group and protect against incoming aircraft and missiles. It is also designed to protect the aircraft Carrier from submarines. It can go in excess of 30 knots. The Lt.JG mentioned an Aircraft Carrier can out- run the destroyer!
We were given a tour of the ship. Some areas were off limits. It was a dream come true. After the tour, the ship's intercom announced with ' Attention LTC Conway United States Army Reserve, Departing'. I then saluted the American flag at the rear of the ship.
The Army Reserve Major in uniform( Wearing the camouflage face Covering) knew the Navy Base Executive Officer from his son's little league baseball games. The base Executive Officer was a Navy Commander that you see wearing a flight suit . He was able to meet us. The Base XO is a Sea Stallion Helicopter pilot.
This trip to the USS Momsen was on my last day of my 25 day Active Duty. I am now back in Edmonton. Canada requires me to have a 14 day self- quarantine before I can go back to my civilian job.

I wanted to trim the video to make it quick, but the tour was so interesting that I couldn't stop watching and listening to our guide. He was excellent!!! Ho...
I am glad that the Police Chief of Everett Naval Base in Washington State, who is a member of your unit was able to get you and others onboard the vessel while it was docked for maintenance.
Thank you for posting the picture of you with the major from your unit and the base commander of Everett Naval Base under our friend PO1 William "Chip" Nagel's response.
