RP Members and Connections going through transition or those who've gone through transition here is another great article on the subject by one of our brothers here on RallyPoint SSG Eric Burleson! (Click the link above and check out the article).
Provide your feedback and thoughts about your Civilian Friends
Here is a message from Eric about the article:
"When I was in business school, I relied heavily on my civilian classmates to help me learn how to navigate the new environment I'd found myself in. It was tough, but it didn't take too long to feel like I belonged again.
I'm convinced that a well-meaning group of civilian friends made a huge difference for me. Today's article explores why, and how you can benefit from reaching out to non-veterans to include in your social circle."

Who you know is often far more important than what you know. Businesses will often make a job where none existed, certainly was never advertising, for the right candidate. Such opportunities come about almost always through personal referrals.

That is a true statement sir the position I am in was created specifically because they felt I was an asset to their company never underestimate the skills that you have if they want you they will find a way to employ you

Lol right, define friend. I left a successful business career for my trade, doing wood and stone work, custom flooring and tile and people are real, say what they mean, mean what they say. Easy environment to adapt too.
