In case you missed this Feb 2019 "affirmation," military retirees remain accountable under the Articles of the Uniformed Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). Interestingly, Article 88 of the UCMJ is pretty straight forward--nay--explicit in terms of criticism directed toward high ranking government officials being in violation of--and, therefore, punishable under--the Code. Am I missing something here or should I refrain from saying that I think the President's remarks regarding the Kurds absence at Normandy as an excuse for our "abandoning them" were despicable. Don't really think that my humble opinion on that matter would gather a lot of attention at high levels...but, we have a President (that is, the President of the United States with nothing better to do) engaging in Twitter wars with basketball coaches, Hollywood types, sports figures, etc and so on; i.e., essentially anyone who does share his high opinion of mostly himself. For your information, consideration and carefully worded comment. SIGNED: John Q. Smith, Retired. LTC Stephen F. LTC Stephen C. COL Mikel J. Burroughs SFC Mike Lewis LTC Daniel Rickett SGT (Join to see) SGT David A. 'Cowboy' Groth MAJ David Vermillion CSM Charles Hayden CH (CPT) (Join to see)

So you are a political analyst now. What would you instruct President Trump to do? Take constant false allegations from his opponents or be like Bush 2 and just take it? I’m for the fighter. I’m for the guy that gives it back. If you are a coward and want a President to just fall in the fetal position just admit it. I’ll take the fighter any day of the week.

Capt Gregory Prickett - I surprised 1SG went all nuclear on his post.
Oh by the way I would take anything LTC Michael says with a grain of salt. He stated that Asians worried about violence toward them are playing the race card. He obviously lives in an ivory tower.

MAJ Ken Landgren - I'm not surprised, I blocked him a long time ago because of the way he behaves. I believe that he's got real anger issues if you don't believe as he does.

I’m only an E4 and not a retiree! I have no problem saying that dumbass person in WH is a fool and jackass and responsible for all the innocent lives !! If it’s true he shared Intel on Kurd positions to Turks then I’ll see that as abiding to War Crimes at The Hague.

Are Medal of Honor recipients Daniel Inouye and Bob Kerrey sworn enemies of the armed forces?

Regulars who retired are still subject to the UCMJ. Reservists who have retired are not. See Article 2(a), UCMJ. While regulars who have retired and are drawing retirement pay are still technically subject to Art. 88, those of us who are retired reservists are not. We can say anything that we wish to say about the president, and not be in violation.

Capt Gregory Prickett - Best I can tell from the Recent Decision if You're still in the "Fleet Reserve" You're still subject to the UCMJ. After that Magic 30 Yr Mark. Not Anymore. I was released from the Fleet Reserve in 2006. Everybody can KMA! LOL!

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - Again, it's only regulars that have to worry about it. These regulars are transferred to the Fleet Reserve or Retired Reserve, but they are still retired regulars and subject to the jurisdiction under Article 2.
