My credit score is ok but not great, but hers is really good. Using a VA loan do they only look at the score of the person who has the VA loan or will they use both to get an average score?

when I bought my house they used both scores and combined income. however check with state laws as to what they put on the deed, joint tenants or tenants in common

on another note stay away from banks, they will sell the mortgage to an investor anyway. meaning your local bank isn't who you will be paying, mine was transferred 3 times at closing.goto a reputable mortgage lender.

On any loan, if a couple is applying, then both credit is considered, to include a VA loan.
