They have to pay attention, because it will affect military operations planning and they know it.

I think overall, the military follows the lead of the Commander in Chief. As the article states, "Obama spent eight years making staffing and policy decisions that reinforced the effort." So some of our senior leaders, recognizing it was a POTUS priority, began to parrot the same talking points. Now we see it isn't among the current POTUS's top priorities, and our Defense strategy documents are dropping the narrative. Not really surprising, we do the same on many topics.

People make fun of Gore (Captain Ozone)......but he did bring the issue of global warming/climate change to the forefront. Canary in the mine sort of thing. He may not have been the perfect messenger, but the message is important.

If Gore really believed his BS why would he buy a multi million dollar Mansion on the beach when rising sea level and increasing storms threaten the property? Isn’t example an important part of leadership? If so why do Gore and others own houses and fly on planes etc that leave a carbon foot print 100 average American house would barely manage to make. There is a big disconnect between the mouth and the actions.
