So, I'm building a Home Gym and so far I'm loving it. What motivated me to get stuff for working out on my own was the fact that getting a good workout at the post gym on evenings is kind of impossible. Is always packed, every dumbbell is been used, all benches, machines, treadmills, racks, pretty much everything is taken. So I decided to start a little gym at home.

I've got equipment enough to work out every muscle without worrying about who's sweat is on the bench or how many sets has the guy using the machine left. However, since I started building this gym, I find myself looking for more and more equipment.

Last thing I ordered was the so called "Arm Blaster", a piece of equipment made famous in the 70's by Arnold and still being in use nowadays, more often by bodybuilders. I tried it once and I gotta say the focus on the biceps while doing a regular curl was amazing. You feel it from the very first rep, in my case I had to go down in weight. Have you ever used an Arm Blaster? Do you have one? What's your experience with it?

I have used it for a while. I doubt I could use it now due to some injuries. I am a fan of stuff like this but you really need to look at your level of training. I am not trying to say you can't use it but if body builders are using it then it just might be a piece of equipment that may be for advanced lifters. I have lifted for years. I am still not an advanced lifter. One issue you may run into is the lack of working any of the adjacent or stabilizing muscles. If you just develop the bicep and not any of the surrounding muscles you will do a lot of damage. It is great just focusing on the bicep is not something that is for everyone. Too many people just want to hit the muscles that look good. I would very cautious in developing your fitness plan also. I would ensure you are doing it right.

CPT (Join to see) thanks for the advice Sir, while I've been working out for years now, I'm not an advance lifter either. At the same time, I'm all in for proper form instead of weight. While I'm bigger than a few guys around, is common to see me lifting lighter than other guys because I like to have total control on the weight I'm working with. I move on heavier weights when I feel I can manage them properly. And yes, I love working arms but I don't think I'll change my whole routine because of this equipment, it will be an add on to what I already have. Good morning Sir!

Your injuries can slow you down but you should never let them stop you. I learned that over the course of many years after some debilitating shoulder and back injures. I stopped working out completely, and figured that was that.

For 8 years I didn't stop foot in a gym, and my condition only got worse. Then I saw one of those old guys in shape and doing incredible things and said its not over until its over. I also have a friend who lost both his legs and uses prosthesis, but you wouldn't know it unless he wears shorts.,

When I finally went back to the gym I was so weak and pathetic that I couldn't even put any weight on the machines. Today, I have to add external weight to a couple of them.

To be totally honest, my back and shoulder still does hurt occasionally, so the excise wasn't a complete cure. But it doesn't hurt nearly as much, nor as bad as it did when I was sitting a home doing nothing. I also feel a lot better and more confident about myself as compared to when I was moping around as a complete vegetable.

Anyway, nobody knows your condition, nor is it anyone elses business. But I found encouragement from others, but only can decide what's good for you.

Used one but I feel that it puts to much pressure on the joints(yes I know it can be adjusted).

SGT(P) (Join to see) - They definitely work if you use good form and don't cheat. I always felt a lot of pressure on my elbows and shoulders when I used one and if I went really heavy on by triceps. I haven't seen one in ages.

SGM Steve Wettstein however, I'm already thinking about using it once a week, maybe every other arm day until I get used to it. They're coming back.

Save your money and go to the gym 05:00 to 06:15. I have been on that schedule for years without issue. Most people wont take advantage of the early hours.

CW3 (Join to see) not here Sir, because of the cold, in the mornings it gets full of DINFOS students. Which at the same time is sad to see, bunch of young guys with no idea of what they're doing. Just one NCO walking around the gym but there's too many trainees for just one or two NCO's.
