That would not happen now because the Army has its World Class Athlete Program. My 16 year old daughter is already ranked a World Class athlete in her sport, wants to join the Army after college and intends to apply for the Army's WCAP. She has already spoken with a number of current participants in the program. She knows she meets their qualifications.

Thanks, SGT (Join to see). A number of international athletes were standing around to have pictures taken in front of that sign. When Katelyn's turn came up, she did her little goofing off that you see in the video. Five of those other athletes were the German team. They were black belts aged 19 to 32. After Katelyn did that, they all wanted to have their picture taken with her. They said they wanted proof that they met her "way back when."

SGT (Join to see) - Thank you. She is only 5' 1" and can kick a person who is 6' 6" up side their head without having to jump up off the ground. If they're any taller, she might have to jump a little. If they're too tall she will pick a lower target, and if it is a guy, he'll quickly wish she's have kicked him up side the head instead. LOL. To top all that off, she is in ROTC and blows away the armed forces physical fitness test. The last regional ROTC physical fitness competition before COVID-19 involved high school students from all over Northern Texas -- Dallas, Fort Worth and every other city all the way to Amarillo. She took second in chin up position hang time in, and finished first in the other five events. She even won the long jump because her legs are like spring-loaded grasshopper legs and they really propel her. She says a lot of the boys are envious of her abilities, but they all cheer her on and support her, even though she is showing them up. Her ROTC instructors really love her because her athletic performances give them bragging rights when regional staff, all military retirees, get together.
