Why has it taken so long for the U.S. to realize that a national Lockdown is necessary to prevent the spread of Covid-19?

SSG Shawn Mcfadden - As to my beliefs in the Lord I believe as I do and will not change the way I believe because of one or two verses which may or my not be what the lord wants at this time. I believe if you allow the lord he will lead you the way he wants you to go. The Bible was translated by man and man makes mistakes in translations because when it was written the language it was written in had different meanings then it did when the translation was made and meanings are different today from what it was. So I say the good book is in general a good book to follow but you have to use your on interpretations.
Well you socialist had better take head then because allowing things like men claiming to be women, abortion etc. puts you right in with those people that will be destroyed. This I can not understand if you are religious how can you side with the democratic agenda?

SSG Shawn Mcfadden - The lord has said doctors treat your selves. It also said rich men have about as much chance getting into heaven as a camel has of going through the eye of a needel(Doctors are rich men mostly). Now I take what doctors say with a grain of salt also. But As to me taking that vaccine I will as I have said but as to me personally I do not have a real opinion of this is being good choice or not.

The role of government is to provide opportunity for the MANY, yet the previous administration only did this for the FEW(tax law is perfect example). 2.Trump did provide some form of financial assistance to some of big farmers being killed by the trade war with China. This is a form of socialism. As for me being religious, after traveling to a lot of different places, I've seen what insanity, and garbage man does in the name of GOD. You blame Obama for what happened with the recession, yet it was George W. Bush who got the Country there in the first place. Obama had to clean up that mess. Did some people lose their jobs during that time, yes, but as I said, the Country was digging out of a recession. We're going through that now, trump was elected because of the FEARMONGERING and LIES he was spewing out of his mouth about Mexico, Muslims, etc. The white supremacists were given a voice by him, and started using that voice after trump was elected. The economy that Obama salvaged was handed to trump and trump SCREWED it up thanks to the TAX LAW, the trade war with China, and his mishandling of the pandemic. What recovery under trump are you talking about? As far as the "Choices" for president go, a lot of people didn't want to see a woman be president. The GOP rallied behind trump because they didn't want to see a woman president after 8 years of Obama, and they believed that thru trump, their agendas would be pushed(tax law and supreme court Court Judges are two of them). I never gave trump a chance because I knew that he had no respect for the branches of government and the checks and balances between them. CEO's like him have the :"My way or the Highway" mentality Also, he has a history of being a racist. You're probably not from New York, so you wouldn't have noticed these things off the bat. Bottom line, people like you put your faith in a president who in the end proved to be INCOMPETENT, but also, a liar, traitor, a FACIST, and a racist. and Because of that, and people like you putting their trust in that DOG, over 400,000 Americans(and Counting) lost their lives to the virus, plus an additional 5 that died during the Siege at the Capitol, and one of them was a COP(he hade a "love" for law enforcement didn't he?") 1SG Walter Craig - the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one. better those at increased risk of dying from this crap have to continue to self-isolate than we wreck the economy and everyone suffers. I know most of the true facts concerning this Pandemic. I know that it is comparable to the flu.
The things that makes this different from the flu is it's basic nature of the particles being so small that it can literally pass through a mask, can linger for long periods in the air, can stay alive on surfaces a lot longer then the flu.
Lets take a look at where we are today politically, the world politics, and the enemies of the free world.
The USA politically has elected a socialist government. Why mostly because of the Pandemic.
The free world has been and is now more at unrest with other nations and are considering them a major threat.
The communist/socialist world has always considered the free world a major threat.
Now we know the virus started in China and that the Chinese have not been forth coming with information that has caused the spread of the virus to be many time worse.
It was claimed by China that the disease was released by a monkey in a market place. How believable is this when China has been so secretive about the virus? I will let you decide the answer.
Now these are facts that have been published.
1 Obama had a research lab financed in China during his administration. The same one that is doing research on covid-19.
2. The virus helped get the socialist in power in the USA.
3. The free world has had to reduce it's freedoms by restricting gatherings etc.
4. China has been trying to spread communism for years.
5. There is very smart people that believe in communism.
Would the release of the virus have helped the socialist get in power in the USA? I think it would.
How hard is it to believe, when people this day in time do not care about each other as they use to, That this virus could have been purposely released to further the communist agendas? Oh btw I am not a conspiracist theory monger but when it slaps you in the face you have to consider it.
I do not claim to know if this is true but if it is then it changes the whole picture now doesn't it?

PO3 Steven Guess - To start with for the general population that had the virus it is said only 1.6% or .016 of the people that has had covid-19 has died from it and only .2% 0r .002 died from the flu but those numbers are wrong as to showing the possibility of you dying from it and here is why.
CDC says the number of cases is 26,277,125 and number of deaths is 445,264
There is say 26,277,125 that has had the virus and 1.6 % of them died. Now the majority of them were healthy. Let us say that 2,500,000 were not healthy and had very bad underlying conditions. 445,264 deaths of 2,500,000 is .178 or 17.8% death rate. Now I do not know how many had underlying condition so these numbers are not right this is just to show what I think.
The web says when asked the question 46.7% of the people said they had some underlying condition but this is not the real numbers either that have conditions that they were really at high risk. That number is not known.
But the number of cases is just a guess too because not all the cases were reported and the deaths were attributed to covid-19 even when they died from a car accident if they had covid-19. See the deaths are checked for covid-19 and if they had it then it is listed as a covid-19 death. But don't have a clue how many died from something else before covid-19 actually started effecting them.
So the data is flawed from the beginning. The numbers you just shows reported cases it is not the true numbers.
This virus is bad and that is for sure. I believe before this is over everyone of us will get it. That is because vaccines and I do not care what they say only helps your system fight off the virus and you still get it and can still give it to someone else.

CPT Gurinder (Gene) Rana - Lockdowns will do no good in the long run. The reason is as soon as the lockdown is over and people start traveling again the virus will stick its ugly head up again and the mess will start over.
The whole world would have to be locked down and stay locked down for at least a year and this still would not stop it if it was released from a monkey which in my opinion is very doubtful so as soon as the lock down is over it will start up again. There is no stopping it from spreading. You can slow it down but there is no stopping it unless someone comes up with a real solution like forcing it in some way to mutate to a state that it is not as infectious.
So the solutions that are presented only slow it down.
