Wednesday, February 14, 2018 - Motivational Quotes of the Day! Good Morning All and may you enjoy a Happy Valentine's Day with your significant others.
Today is: "Don't Assume Day!" Why Not?
When we assume we think we understand the meaning or intention of other's behaviors & words. Most of the time we're wrong. Unfortunately, assumptions seem very real for us, which can create a false interpretation. Stop assuming & ask, it costs you nothing!" — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
The Quote in the Picture Today Reads: "Never ASSUME any thing. Nothing will land you in a problem faster than false assumption. There are two sides to every story." — Unknown Author
"And if you insist on continuing to make assumptions about my character, I'll advise you only this: assume you will always be wrong." ― Tahereh Mafi
"Before you 'assume' try this crazy method called 'asking'." ― Unknown Author
"Before you assume, learn the facts. Before you judge, understand why. Before you hurt someone, feel. Before you speak, think." ― Unknown Author
"Never assume you know what someone is thinking. Never under estimate what anyone is capable of." ― Toni Payne
"Don't assume you know me by what you heard; I grow daily. Your messenger might have outdated information!" ― Unknown Author
"Respond, don't react. Listen, don't talk. Think, don't assume." ― Raji Lukkoor

"It's not the things you don't know that trip you up. It's the things you think you know, but you don't. You fail to ask a certain question because you believe you know the answer. Separating your information from your assumptions can be very tricky business." ~Claudia Gray
As a logistician, I have seen this happen too many times. Plans are made based on the sand of assumptions and as soon as we begin, the clog happens and we go nowhere until we fix it. As a counselor, I see daily interactions that do not have to go the negative way they do simply for the lack of understanding. Questions show not just sense but respect as long as you listen and take the answers into account.

Great quotes today, Mikel! We all know what assumptions can make of us. Here is a good response to making assumptions:
“The explanation requiring the fewest assumptions is most likely to be correct.”
― William of Ockham

Exactly, you would be better off throwing darts to find answers than soaking in assumptions. Have a great day brother.
