To me, leadership is about instilling positive values in both our families and our teams/troops. I liked this one as a good example of how to do that. Two way conversation is a big part of that as well as setting the example for the behavior we want.

My British expatriate parents instilled hope in me and my younger sisters. They demonstrated a strong work ethic and that was instilled in each of us - lasting to this day.
1. Thankfully stories whether read by us, to us, or through us as we reenact or create sound effects [especially for your children] enable us to explore vistas of the imagination and instill that love in others.
2. I have done my best to instill hope in my sons and focus on improving our own behavior. Learning to focus on myself to improve situations was challenging but I learned it lined up with God's Word. Now that they are adults they demonstrate hope and they are self-motivated to improve their own behavior.
3. Growing in in and just outside of Philadelphia, PA my role models were my British expatriate parents. They taught me by demonstration of action to respect each person we interacted with independent of skin color, creed or faith, level in society, employed or unemployed, kempt or unkempt, etc.
a. My father's work ethic was noble and worthy of emulation. His work around the led me to enjoy yard work.
b. My mother's cooking skill helped me to learn to cook from bacon and scrapple to home fried potatoes to Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding.
c. I have been influenced by many people, but nobody other than my parents ever served as a true role model in all respects.
4. Since the LORD regenerated my heart and soul in September, 1987 the LORD has been my primary role model.
5. Sadly too many seem to consider radical socialists to be role models in this nation.
