Good evening my friend SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. It certainly makes sense to return some things such as library books and other materiel checked out; as well as funds you borrow, tools and other durable commodities.
However in our culture the word borrow is a euphemism all too often. Borrowing sugar, a tissue, a seat in an office waiting room, etc. Those are generally never expected to be returned :-)
Borrowing a moment of time is really something that can never be returned in its original state - although sharing a later moment with that person can repay in kind :-)

A really dislike those who don’t
