The “Colonel’s” VFV Motivational/Inspirational Quotes & Message of the Day!

Good “Saturday & 911 Anniversary!” Morning “Band of Brothers & Sisters,” and all great connections. Welcome from the “Eagle’s Nest” on the road in Amarillo, TX! — 11 September 2021!

**On the road back to The Woodlands on the Harley as we remember that 20 years ago today on 9/11 this country was viscously attacked by terrorist! Let’s never forget those brave and innocent people that perished that day!**

Today’s Message is: “Posturing Day!” Why Not?

“People who are desk jockeys, arm share quarterbacks, and ‘wannabes’ leaders use posturing on social media and throughout life, and they growl and sniff around each other. If you want to be the real thing and have the right stuff as a leader, then get out from behind your desk, and get up out of your easy chair, and quit flashing your educational degrees; jump into the foxhole with your people, get your hands dirty, and have real professional conversations with your people at all levels. People are fed up with closed door policies, bullies that posture with words, and try to be real leaders – they never will!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

The Quote in the Picture Today Reads:

“The real champions in life are so humble and gracious. They just continue doing what they do without all the posturing. If you’ve got the real thing, you don’t have to flaunt a loud imitation!” — Denis Waitley

More Awesome Quotes for Today’s Message:

“Power without legitimacy tempts tests of strength; legitimacy without power tempts empty posturing.” — Henry Kissinger

“Posturing is funny to me.” — Casey Wilson

“Leadership must be based on goodwill. Goodwill does not mean posturing and, least of all, pandering to the mob. It means obvious and wholehearted commitment to helping followers.” — James Stockdale

“Narrative Prose is a legal wife, while drama is a posturing, boisterous, cheeky and wearisome mistress.” — Anton Chekhov

“When moral posturing is replaced by an honest assessment of the data, the result is often a new, surprising insight.” — Steven D. Levitt

“As you get older, there’s a loosening of the ties to the ego and the posturing of who you are and how you behave.” — Pierce Brosnan

“We need less posturing and more genuine charisma.” — Marianne Williamson

My wife & I are traveling this morning to Cape Cod for an overnight visit with my son, Jeff & his wife, Kim at their Summer home... More to follow...

Good “Saturday & 911 Anniversary!” Morning to all my Brothers & Sisters, wherever you are today!

It is a beautifully clear blue sky day here in the greater Boston area and My wife and I are looking forward to a great day of boating, with my son, Jeff and my daughter-in-law, Kim on their 26 footer with two 170 Yamaha's on the rear... It will go through darn near anything... Rough waves though on the the Atlantic side of the Cape, so probably will stay on the inland waters of the Cape today...

Today is: “Posturing Day!” Why Not?

"The nation, as you know, is at a critical point. At a time like this we can't risk partisan bickering and political posturing. 'Our leaders have to reach across the aisle to do the people's work and we citizens also have to rise to the occasion." - Senator Mitt Romney

"Narrative prose is a legal wife, while drama is a posturing, boisterous, cheeky and wearisome mistress." - Anton Chekhov

"Every human being deserves something better than having their lives dismissed in a flood of simplistic rhetoric, posturing and crass political point-scoring." - Munjed Al Muderis

"Men always seemed to growl and sniff around each other, bristling over nothing, and just as suddenly become buddies at the least likely moments." - Christine Feehan

"Leadership must be based on goodwill. Goodwill does not mean posturing and, least of all, pandering to the mob. It means obvious and wholehearted commitment to helping followers." - James Stockdale

"The real champions in life are so humble and gracious. They just continue doing what they do without all the posturing. If you've got the real thing, you don't have to flaunt a loud imitation." - Denis Waitley

And then there are...

Say hi to the Cape for me. This is the weekend that we traditionally shut down our home in Eastham. Less posturing and more action might be the answer to DC ineffectiveness.

Good morning Rally Point from a beautiful sunny fall day in Northern Virginia. I am enjoying the sun but feeling like it should rain every year on 9/11 so that the outside matches how so many of us feel on the inside.
No need for public posturing if we all took the few moments to truly reflect on 9/11...what it was, what it cost us, the heroism of those who ran into those buildings...it's hard for me to believe it has been twenty years until I see the daughter (who was just a child) of a friend who died in the towers and she now has children of her own who will never know their grandfather.
Cherish every moment with those you love.

A true champion or leader is humble, they don't brag about what they have accomplished, or done Lt Col Charlie Brown

I have read several MOH awarded remarks and almost all say that they were simply doing their duty, not doing something heroic.
