Why do we have to be male veterans or female veterans or any other type of veteran? Let’s embrace the fact that we are all vets. Let’s focus on the fact that we all served our country not about our demographics. I am a female. I was born that way. I CHOSE to serve. I don’t want to be called a female veteran. I am a veteran who happens to be female. Call me veteran just like my brothers.

Agreed.... There should be not list of boxes to check (male, female, black, white, asian, indian),,,,, Instead it should be,,,, Name, Age, Accomplishments !!!

Or is it a venue to fix the fact that doctors ignore us when we try to get treatment or women vets make up the highest increase in homelessness and suicides? Or that when there is a group of veterans anywhere, the woman is assumed to be a spouse and passed by...Ive even had my Dad given military respect as my guest at a VSO and I’m a 27 year vet...he’s not.
These things are not to divide us as I treasure my fellow veterans. These are genuine issues that are unique to a growing number of veterans that even the active duty lags behind in figuring out that one size doesn’t fit all.
