I'm about to PCS to Korea for 1 year but I'm leaving my dependents at home. After I return to CONUS at the end of my tour does my dwell time reset?

Defenition of "Dwell Time" according to AR 614-200 page 115:

Dwell time
The time a Soldier spends at home station between combat deployments, operational deployment (noncombat), or
dependent restricted tour . The addition of these service types does not change the long and short tour policies in any
way.

Non-Command Sponsored tours regardless of area in Korea are dependent restricted tours.

Dwell time is to reset to zero upon arrival to Korea on a dependent restricted tour.

I believe it is pro- rated though. If you were 1 year in Korea, non-CS you get 6 months of dwell time...

Hi SFC I was wondering if this applies if the unit isn’t deploying but going on a four month training exercise overseas. Same situation I PCS’d from Korea to my current unit. SFC (Join to see)

You still suppose to be coded by your S1 as non-deployable because the exercise is out of country. You suppose to sign a waiver if you want to go waiving your stabilization, otherwise you’re suppose to be stabled at the duty station location for 6 months. PFC (Join to see)

What would you suggest I do if they try to send me without having me sign anything? As of right now they are telling me I’m going but there’s been no mention of a waiver. SFC (Join to see)

You need to go to your S1 to find out why they did not code you for your dwell time upon return from Korea. Unfortunately If they think you don’t know about it they’re not going to mention it because they are trying to make numbers. PFC (Join to see)
