Oct 3, 1991 is when we turned our last sector over to the ROKs! 1998 is when they opened the Unification Bridge to replace Freedom. It was a different beast when we were on the MDL..... Guard, QRF, and combat patrols!

Great video!! I served multiple tours for a total of 7 years in Korea 1987-2004. I went over on my own trip in 2015 and wrote a book about our service in Korea and the changes in that country. NEW Book Co-Authored with Dr. Anna Lint, “8 Eyes on Korea, A Travel Perspective of Seoul, Korea.” Multiple perspectives of Korea from both Americans and Koreans. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BAEVN7I All proceeds go to charity for scholarships.

Freedom was just north of Munsan, MSR 1. Libby bridge was a few clicks east of there, might be the one your thinking of!

What are some of your favorite memories of your tour? What is the less favorite...might have been worth the behind chewing? Do you have any pictures of old time Korea? I would like to post them to a early starting archive of our various tours and to show how much has changed. (Change CAN be good and sometimes not.) I am going to post them on an area for history on my scholarship website. Let me know if you can hit me with some data, stories or old pictures. (I saw a picture of a box of open C-RATs the other day and it was a blast down memory lane.)
