I expect you are wise enough to be grateful to the LORD for the shed blood of the sinless eternal Son. No doubt you appreciate that HE sees no sin in any of HIS adopted children. HE is sanctifying each of HIS own as he prunes and purifies the soul of each of us to perfectly reflect the image of God. ‘For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.’ [1 Corinthians 13;12-13 ESV] my brother-in-Christ Maj Robert Thornton

I pray for insight, discernment and great listening and negotiating capabilities for honest and trustworthy senators, congressmen, congresswomen, judges, justices, state legislators and governors and mayors, as well as business, industrial, and corporate leaders and CEOs around the world. Bless each with endurance to stand firm for justice for all, personal responsibility, and the basic inalienable rights of freedom to speak, write, assemble and worship. ‘But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.’ [James 1:22-25 ESV]

LORD, I pray YOU prompt each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads or listens to this prayer to share our personal testimony of our experiences in our walk of faith. Remind us to write down our memories while we still remember. Motivate each of us to write down on paper, add notes to photographs, and other records of our personal life story. Help us to encourage and guide those we love to share their own testimonies and experiences transparently ‘For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall not teach, each one his neighbor and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.” John 14:24-26 ESV]

In these challenging times, remember the admonition of the LORD and take heart “But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore, it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.’ [Ephesians 5:13-16 ESV]

I pray that you are slept well Thursday night with each one you love and that each of you awoke refreshed and healthy on Friday, May 26, 2023, morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Belated thank you my friend and brother-in-Christ Sgt John H. for your diligence in posting our friend, former RallyPoint member emeritus, and brother-in-Christ Colonel Mikel Burroughs VFV Motivational/Inspirational Quotes & Message of the Day Thursday May 25, 2023.

Topic: Difficult Day
As usual there is a deliberate twist in this topic of the day. One might expect the focus to be on difficult to accomplish. Yet the focus is on difficult to forget - hubris comes readily to mind for those who want to be remembered.
As a born-again adopted son of God, I am beyond grateful that God does not see any sin in each of HIS adopted children, since HE looks at us through the efficacious shed blood of the eternal Son.
1. In fact the best and worst leaders tend to be remembered. It is wise to learn from the good and especially the bad.
2. I was streetwise and a quick study as a teenager. I learned much some for good and much for bad and resolved to not repeat the bad or encourage others to do the bad.
3. I well remember those individuals who understood that leadership was a privilege and honor to serve. Beginning with my British expatriate parents who led me, guided me, and tolerated me. They instilled the bedrock foundation of serving as a way of life. I well remember LTC Jack Wood, COL [later GEN] Wayne Downing; Col and later MG Richard Stephen Siegfried whose leadership inspired me. I also remember the soldiers and NCOs I led and served with SPC Richard Weyman, SPC Sims, 1SG George Brewster, PFC Ballinger, SGT Collie, SP4 Shreves and SPC (Join to see)
4. As a US Army soldier and later a USMA cadet with prior military service, I resolved to treat each person with respect, emulate the good and resolved to eschew the bad.

Quotes:
1. Harvey Mackay 'Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Forget about those who don’t. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it.
2. Phillips Brooks 'Forgive, forget. Bear with the faults of others as you would have them bear with yours.'
3. Elizabeth Bibesco 'Blessed are those who can give without remembering and take without forgetting.'
4. Jennifer Young 'Pause and remember - Every single event in your life, especially the difficult lessons, have made you smarter, stronger, and wiser than you were yesterday. Be thankful!'
5. Gregory Peck 'Tough times don't last, tough people do, remember'
6. Ronald Reagan 'We will always remember. We will always be proud. We will always be prepared, so we will always be free.'
7. Teresa of Avila 'Let us remember that within us there is a palace of immense magnificence.'
8. Thomas à Kempis 'If you wish to live in peace and harmony with others, you must learn to discipline yourself in many ways.' From Chapter 17 of Imitation of Christ 'If you wish to live in peace and harmony with others, you must learn to discipline yourself in many ways. It is not easy to live in a Religious Community and remain there without fault, (Philippians 3:6) persevering faithfully until death (Rev.2:10) Blessed is he who has thus lived happily and well to the end. If you wish to achieve stability and grow in grace, remember always that you are an exile and pilgrim on this earth (I Pet 2:11; Heb.11:13) Be content to be accounted a fool for Christ's sake (I Cor.4:10) if you wish to be a Religious.

Scriptures
a. Jeremiah 31:31-34 ESV ‘“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” God will remember their sin no more.
b. Hebrews 8:6-13 ESV 'But as it is, Christ has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a second. For he finds fault with them when he says: “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt.
For they did not continue in my covenant, and so I showed no concern for them, declares the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord:
I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall not teach, each one his neighbor and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.” In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.
c. 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3 ESV 'We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.'
d. Romans 11:13-18 ESV 'Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry in order somehow to make my fellow Jews jealous, and thus save some of them. For if their rejection means the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance mean but life from the dead? If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump, and if the root is holy, so are the branches. But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree, do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you.'
e. John 14:24-26 ESV ‘For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall not teach, each one his neighbor and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.”
f. Philippians 3:12-15 ESV ' Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you. Only let us hold true to what we have attained
g. James 1:22-27 ESV But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing. If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person’s religion is worthless. Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.

Gettysburg is a study all its own. Especially when the confederate charge up a hill held by the Union had a chance of succeeding, but the Confederates surrendered while the Union troops were on their last bullet. Some of the Union troops were completely without any ammunition, having spent what they had during the defense of the position. The confederates on the other hand , had enough ammo for another charge and then some.
Lee thought it an easy victory, as did the confederate troops, until it wasn't. The confederates gave up when they kept being repulsed. Had they kept the charge going, Gettysburg would have been a Confederate Victory... tentative , but a victory none the less.
I texted this to make a point; just because a perceived weakness is rebuffed, don't stop the charge. You may give up when you are on the point of Victory.
