Annex Mexico. The FBI will have all elements of the cartels north of the new southern border sorted out within a few years. The new southern border would be 1/3 as long as the current one, and 76% of it consists of rivers. A much easier security problem than the one we have now. Mexico has the world's 15th largest GDP and on track to be 5th by 2050, it wouldn't be an economic nightmare the way South Korea absorbing North Korea would, but, yes, it would bring short term pain the way German reunification did for West Germany. Mexico is the world's 6th largest oil producer and has the world's third largest potential for solar power. It also has the second highest degree of economic disparity among all OECD countries, three times the average infant mortality rate among OECD countries, and is among the top 15 greenhouse gas emitters in the world, not to mention staggering levels of government corruption. My idea would be good for America, good for Mexicans, and good for the environment, what's not to love?

IMO, there will be little impact on drug use in this nation until we address the overlaying reasons for such abuse. And, again, IMO, those reasons are varied and multiple.
Otherwise, there is just too much money involved to put a stop to the dealers and cartels.

LTC Matthew Schlosser - No, I am saying killing them will not end the drug abuse problem. More will just take their place. As long as there what want the product, there will be those who will provide it.
We must address the problems, not just the suppliers.

By the way, I also believe in our justice system.
