Navy, Huntington Ingalls 'In a Better Place' After Criticism of USS Ford: Navy Secretary

I have a ton of issues with ship yards. In this case, granted I have no 1st hand knowledge, I think they tried to put too much brand new technology and equipment on one platform. At one point in the yards, we had to cancel a few projects because there were too many things that hadn't been tested, hadn't figured out how it would talk/interact with the other systems, and we were seriously wondering how we were going to be able to handle these things in combat. We had no tech specs or repair/combat procedures. My 2 cents is that yards don't understand these ships can go straight from the yards to a combat situation. Their cute little projects aren't worth it if sailors don't know how to use them when the bullets are flying. I'll get off my soapbox.... CWO3 Dennis M.
