I'm wondering if anyone has information on this, before I email the Awards branch at HRC. I know, in the past, soldiers received the GWOTEM for serving in Kuwait, under PCS status.

There campaign stars authorized for the GWOTEM are aligned by operation. Each of OIF and OEF (before 2004), OND, OIR, and ONS have one.
Depending on your situation (and whether or not you spend enough time in Iraq) you might qualify for the Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal.

WO1 (Join to see) - Actually, this is the MILPER message that authorizes campaign stars on the GWOTEM. In short, it will matter which campaign you are supporting, which is why I answered how I did above with the second half. I'll remedy the part about no stars yet, as the new campaigns weren't published when last I looked. My personnel nerdery has atrophied a bit.
