That was fraud on the part of this person, Did He think the Army wouldn't notice He wasn't there and in fact AWOL or when He didn't appear they would check His employer or home ? As a civilian Police Officer I've had the experience of escorting Military Police to an AWOL members home to take Him into custody. I've also apprehended Deserters and AWOL people IAW My Military Police duties as well. I hope He enjoyed His vacation after screwing up both His civilian and Military career. Talk about a stupid move ! I have no sympathy for Him at all and He deserves whatever punishment was waiting for Him

During my civilian police career, I spent 4 years on the fugitive detail. My partner (former Marine) and I took special interest and pleasure when we were assigned to hunt down AWOL folks. Many of the military members were shocked that we would hunt them down. They figured no one would notice or care. But when we received a AWOL warrant from the feds, we placed it on top of the list.

What a idiot and an embarrassment to both law enforcement and the military.
