Let me dispel a silly little myth by ALL of you who are not or never were an 11 Series Soldier. If you are not or never were 11 Series you are not and never were an Infantryman!!!! Just because you have a 10th Mountain combat or unit patch doesn't mean you are Infantry.
I keep hearing people say that ALL Soldiers are 11B first and then whatever MOS they hold after and that is complete BS. Everyone gets BASIC Infantry training like rifle marksmanship, tossing a grenade, fire a 50 cal, confidence course, mout training, pulling security, knowing your sector of fire etc. Most MOS's will never do that stuff again and they are not 11B or anything even remotely Infantry. Sorry Dafne, if you wanted to be Infantry you would have signed up accordingly instead of being a flute player in the Army Band, a cook, finance clerk, PAC 42A or JAG legal Soldier.
As a deployed Infantryman I can tell you first hand how the REMFS and POGUEs live in theater. Fat backing shammers! Do not dare call yourselves Infantryman or think you are like an Infantryman cause you carry a fricking M16! Oh and you might want to blow the dust off of it once a week.
Support Elements are necessary and extremely important. In my current MOS, If me and my Soldiers don't load the ships, trains and planes the light fighter will never get his connex with all his equipment, MRE's etc. So be proud you support the Infantryman but do not call yourself one.
Rant over ;)

I'm calling Bullshit. I was in a Trans Company in the 3rd ID. We trained fuckin hard. I was in a Support Battalion, and in the only Transportation Company in the Division. I'd put my training up against any infantryman. Not only was technically and tactically proficient in my MOS as a 88M, I also was qualed on the M2, SAW, and of course my M4. I went to courses on new commo equipment and the M8 chemical detection unit. You Infantry boys always lit up when you saw my truck. You dipshits didn't even know what was on it. So you bullet catchers can suck a dick.

I would be interested to know the type of insecure HERO who it was that told you that. And did you consider the source. Sounds like they are just bustin your chops. Just give it right back. I have 26+ years as an Infantry Fighting Soldier. As an 11Z SGM I can tell you, Welcome to the Infantry! I don't care how you got here but you did.
