I am thankful that I live with my darling wife and adult sons in an area which experiences four distinct seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter. I understand that many like to live in areas where it is usually hot to warm and a few like cold most of the time :-)
2. I demonstrated standing up for others to my young sons as had been demonstrated to me by my British expatriate parents. Now they stand up for others
3. We each experience the passage of time at the same rate [except those who travel to outer space] although time seems to pass slowly when bored or waiting and to zoom by when enjoying ourselves.
4. The LORD reminds us through Salomon in Ecclesiastes that there is a time for everything under the sun.
5. Parents who have been blessed and challenged with toddlers have experienced children behaving childishly and childlike in enthusiasm.
6. It is wonderful to me to see a child gleefully and enthusiastically watching or playing with something simple. Childlike simplicity appreciates rainbows, butterflies, clouds, green grass and virtually everything else in God's creation.
7. The LORD admonishes us to be childlike and approach life simply.

No doubt you have learned much as you have gone through the seasons of your life. By God’s grace you have been able to not only grow but to share what you have learned to those you love and others who have eagerness to lean from you. I expect that your life story has many fascinating details that could be the basis for a book series or film series or at least a short story series from a great author. Before time began, the LORD planned your life including birth, spiritual rebirth, growth in Christ, physical death and the ‘crown’s that HE will bestow on you at the judgement of the saints. The LORD’s plans are for your good. 'For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. [Jeremiah 29:11-13 ESV] my brother-in-Christ Maj Robert Thornton .
I pray for keen insight, good communication ability, and good listening skills and sufficient fruit of the Spirit faithfulness, gentleness, and goodness for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads or listens to this prayer. LORD enable us to be more childlike and less selfish as we interact with those who we live with, work with, and whose path intersects with ours. ‘Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance, to understand a proverb and a saying, the words of the wise and their riddles.’ [Proverbs 1:5-6 ESV]
YOU know the challenges we each will be going through and YOU prepare us through sanctification as YOU shape, prune, and mature our soul into the perfect image of the LORD. In these challenging times it is wise to lean on the LORD in all things. As mature believers, we understand that oftentimes the trials and testing seasons we face are for the benefit of others as well as ourselves. When we face unexpected challenges, it is wise to seek the LORD’s guidance. 'Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.’ [James 1:12 ESV].
LORD, I pray that YOU bless each one of us who is YOURs with eyes to see what we need to see, ears to hear what we need to hear and a heart sensitive to YOU Holy Spirit. As mature believers, we understand that oftentimes the trials and testing seasons we face are for the benefit of others as well as ourselves. When we face unexpected challenges, it is wise to seek the LORD’s guidance. 'Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.’ [James 1:12 ESV].
LORD, I pray that YOU bless each one of us who is YOURs with eyes to see what we need to see, ears to hear what we need to hear and a heart sensitive to YOU Holy Spirit. Enable each one of us to heed YOUR admonishment from the book of Ecclesiastes on the times, seasons and order of YOUR creation. ‘For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.’ [Ecclesiastes ‘3:1-18 ESV]

By God’s grace you have been able to not only grow but to share what you have learned to those you love and others who have eagerness to lean from you. I expect that your life story has many fascinating details that could be the basis for a book series or film series or at least a short story series from a great author. Before time began, the LORD planned your life including birth, spiritual rebirth, growth in Christ, physical death and the ‘crown’s that HE will bestow on you at the judgement of the saints. The LORD’s plans are for your good. 'For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I pray for keen insight, good communication ability, and good listening skills and sufficient fruit of the Spirit faithfulness, gentleness, and goodness for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads or listens to this prayer. LORD enable us to be more childlike and less selfish as we interact with those who we live with, work with, and whose path intersects with ours. ‘Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance, to understand a proverb and a saying, the words of the wise and their riddles.’ [Proverbs 1:5-6 ESV]
