I missed out on passing my hearing test with a 35 in one ear for the 2000 range with everything else within limits. I was denied a hearing waiver because a number of the results were borderline passing in addition to the failing 35.

What are the chances that the National Guard Bureau will allow me to re-enlist as a prior service in the National Guard (Kentucky specifically if that matters).

Thanks!

Unfortunately continuing to ask the same question worded differently will not get you an answer you are looking for. If your waiver was denied by MEPS, then the waiver was denied and there is not much more you can do. The Army right now is seeing an influx of fully qualified individuals who don’t require waivers, so there could be a chance that MEPS doesn’t reverse its decision. Hearing is vital for many jobs.

SPC Josh Tharp, I have to say...you are starting to sound like the definition of insanity. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting/hoping for a different outcome.

You have repeated this same question over and over again. Each time a little different. Each time, you have been provided answers/advice/guidance. The DoDI 6130.03 is the guidance that ALL components must follow. MEPS must follow this DoDI. Your waiver was denied because your hearing was not within the allowable standards. Until such time as your hearing results ARE WITHIN the standard, no waiver will be granted.

You went through MEPS and got denied for your waiver. The Guard still has to use DOD standards which is what MEPS is... and no, the state does not matter as to waiver or not. My suggestion would be talk to your recruiter and see when you could come back to retest, IF you can retest... otherwise seek life elsewhere.
