When do I change branch insignia?

I’m tracking all. I guess my question is, will you begin your CG staff duties following your completion of CCC, or have you already begun? The policy states one thing, but let’s face it, if the CG wants all of his staff-dress-right dress...CPT (Join to see)

Sir, I get you. Yes, I began last August but will be on CO-ADOS orders beginning 01 FEB 19. Like you said, I wanna be dress right dress. In all sincerity, the CG is a two star RADM, USN as we are a joint unit so I think he wouldn’t care one way or another as he selected me as an IN officer. However, I’m trying to represent the Army in the best way I know how as I’m the one of three USAR officers assigned to the staff. Again just trying to be administratively pure and within Regs. Understand. Well, the best way to represent the Army, is to give the true representation of yourself. I recommend following the reg and sticking with the insignias that you’re qualified and authorized to wear, then following your graduation from MI CCC, dawn your MI insignias and wear them proudly (and legitimately). Unless the regs have changed, you wear brass of choice in MI. My office tent was next to the MI Det tent at LBJ, BMB for 199th Inf Bde. So I spoke with them a lot. They wore branch they were conversant in. OB wore JAG, as he had been a lawyer, II was Engineer, as that what his degree was in. They said if there is not have a branch you are conversant in, you Infantry as anyone could bullshit there was through that. LOL

Perhaps that is why Os not wear branch on fatigues any longer.

CPT (Join to see) - While wearing your dress blues I guess. I miss the BDU when you knew instantly who you were meeting. Be proud of your Infantry. MI is important though.

When the Ky National Guard assigned me to an Engineer unit and intiated a branch transfer, I started wearing Castles even though I was not fully qualified for almost a year after the Transfer. Since I attended two AD schools during the period and was not reprimanded, I assume you are correct.

CPT (Join to see) Almost the same situation as I was when I switched to the KYARNG. I wore Castles as soon as I transferred. You wore rifles in your Basic Course and where not fully qualified either.

CPT (Join to see) you wear your branch, your detailed branch, or GO staff. If you're not detailed to another branch or on GO staff, sport that IN.

The detailed branch is the one you serve in before the branch you are assigned. Combat Arms branches traditionally are the detailed branch.
