I bet you the new F-35 will have the same disadvantage as the Toronado. The F-35 is a John Candy trying to be a ballerina in a dog fight with only one engine that is underpowered. I bet you an A-10 Warthog with its air-to-air missiles could do a good job and possibly out turn the faster fighter plane since it has a smaller turning radius. I remember watching on dogfights where, during the Vietnam war, a Douglas Skyraider shot down a mig-21 using his machine guns and Kentucky windage. I would love to see in the future the A-10 Warthog actually shoot down a modern Russian made fighter plane. Do you think it's possible? What are your thoughts aviators of what the British Airmen did against our best fighter pilots? I respect the u.s. Navy I just thought this was a pretty interesting article. It sounds like it's better to have an excellent pilot in a mediocre aircraft instead of having a mediocre pilot in an excellent aircraft. I am sure the u.s. Navy Pilots were well-trained.

Chip, any truth that's mig-29s have tube Electronics and they're playing so they are not affected by electromagnetic pulse? I know the German and polish air forces have serviceable mig-29s from the Soviet era that they inherited from East Germany or from when they switched over to Nato. Since you're in the electronic Wizkid, is that true that the migs had some tubes in their electronic array?

Just asking. I think it's true but you're from the era where you may know about this or you may be able to find out from one of your own comrades in the field.
