I don't know the ins and outs of the Guard's constabulary rules and regulations, but this seems quite a way out of their mission set. Hunting down illegal pot plants and carting them off via military helicopter?

The Counter-drug program is specifically designed as an assist to local law enforcement for drug interdiction.

1SG (Join to see) - There are some issues with the year-to-year nature of the orders, affects of USSERA, especially in the upcoming review under duty-status reform and even the Blended Retirement System. Hard to provide full-time/career benefits to what is essentially a short-term duty (according to the orders as published).

LTC Stephen B. - Sir, agreed. It's a recurring temp job and heaven help you if you are in a state that is still mired in the good ole boy network military model. Can you imagine doing that job, hitting 17 years and not getting extended because you pissed off the wrong person?
