Correct me if I'm wrong, but the wear out date for the ACU is long past, even for the National Guard, right? I retired five years ago, but I'm pretty sure the OCP is now the only camouflage pattern authorized. I want to confirm before I start hemming up some NG troops here in Texas.

The enlisted soldiers are under a issue in kind system. That means they are not required to buy new uniforms, they are issued. They should have been issued OCP by now unless there was a glitch in the system. Many states have a State Milita that is not connected to the National Guard. They often wear uniforms that have been phased out of the Army. So just make sure they are not state milita.

Actually, they're wearing both patterns, which is why I was asking. Since retiring, I've left behind keeping up while I complete my masters and juris Doctor. Only have room for so much information at a time. ;)

CW5 Jack Cardwell these were two Lieutenants and a sergeant. I'm gonna go see if I can meet with their 1SG to get an idea of what is going on.

You are mistaken. The ACU (Army Combat Uniform) is still the default work uniform for the Army.

The Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP) however, was phased out as we transitioned to the Operational Camouflage Pattern (OCP)

ACU is the uniform, not the pattern.

I'm sorry, I meant OCP, not UCP. And UCP, not ACU. Law school hasy brain fried. Thanks for fixing my error. Regardless, the digital pattern is phased out, right?

Yes, but...

If they are IRR augmentees/prior service volunteers, they may not have OCP uniforms. Not sure where Texas is with the voluntary recall.
