This is probably the best I've seen in terms of what the new ACFT will do to Compo's 2 & 3. I don't think the Army has done all of its homework and the attrition rate they so desperately want to change will only increase with the implementation of this new test. I'm 100% for it but I truly feel that we need to maintain what we currently have (with some slight adjustments) and only take the ACFT if you're deploying to a combat zone. On the Guard/Reserve side, we truly do not have all the time in the world to implement something like this without sacrificing other areas of our drill and annual training time.

There's already plans to have exemptions to policy for units that do not have all the equipment.

The Army should still move towards this type of testing. If not the fitness culture across all units will not change. To be honest, I would prefer a soldier that can do okay on the ACFT than a soldier that could score 300 in the current test.

CPT Enrique M. say it louder so that the people in the back can hear you!

At some point, we have to start mimicking the corporate world best practices. I feel that some Senior leaders are intimidated or do not want to fight the bureaucratic fight.

Unfortunately, I feel that Future Command is still to infant to make cultural changes that we need with innovation.

MSG (Join to see) unfortunately until either an ass whopping or someone realizes its happening it's really hard to change culture unless we start having leaders be more flexible and open to the eve changing battlefield. And show them. If we fail to adapt , then we have history show us what happens , especially to other great armies ;)

MSG (Join to see) I would definitely send that 180 kid to MFT. Maybe it'll teach the kid how to perform better?

I wouldn't because the course requires the Soldier to be in pretty good shape and have a good understanding in strength and conditioning concepts and programing.

Now the old MFT course I would send the 180 Soldier not the current one.

This new ACFT is ungainly and ridiculous to implement at scale.

SFC Melvin Brandenburg Like most things in the Army, they rushed this and are still trying to figure it out. The Army does a horrible job at making anything work well and this is just another example of some GO's great idea that will fail in the beginning. The Army teaches us to us MDMP and other programs aimed at increasing our critical thinking skills but they seem to not drink their own Kool Aid because if they did, the Army would be somewhat better off.

At this rate, all Reserve weekends will be nothing more than Cyclic/SI Inventories, mandatory taskers and ACFT prep/prt...........and that's IF the units have the proper equipment.

MSG (Join to see) Pretty much. They never take into account current OPTEMPO and how it will affect everything else. Of course, NGB is pushing for us to go up to sixty plus MUTA's a year which is a substantial increase from what we currently do.
