Thank you, my friend LTC (Join to see) for making us aware that the USA is sending approximately 1,000 more troops to Poland for joint coalition training.
Of course logistics is the necessary foundation for operations.
It does not make sense right now IMHO to poke the Soviet bear by sending an armored brigade or division of Poland.

"Last fall, Warsaw asked for a tank division. Looks like they're getting rotating logistics troops instead.
The United States will add 1,000 troops to the 4,000 already deployed in Poland, a defense official said Tuesday.
Speaking not for attribution a day ahead of an anticipated formal announcement, the official said the added troops would have logistical, not combat, duties.
The announcement is expected when Polish President Andrzej Duda meets with U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday in Washington.
“There will be a troop increase, but what is more important, new capabilities/cohesion to US deployments. Most importantly, though, we are likely to progress from temporary/provisional arrangements regarding the presence,” a Polish official told Defense One on Monday."

Since these are combat service support designated forces SPC Mark Huddleston and being sent on a rotational deployment this should not raise tensions. I expect this was cleared in negotiations between USA and Russia .....

..... except 1st ABCT 3rd ID was there in 2016 for operation Anaconda, which involved 31,000 Troops. 14,000 of which where US. We've been there for a while to deter Russian aggression....

Thanks for weighing in with recent background SSG (Join to see)

As I mentioned the rotational logistics forces would tend to escalate tensions. The fact that Poland is aligned with the west is the biggest thorn in Russia' side. Russia still has Kaliningrad which is Russian territory between Poland and Lithuania with Baltic Sea access and coastal defense missiles.
Our missile defense systems poise a much higher risk to escalation than deplorable forces do IMHO.

My old friend Ben Hodges took command of USAREUR in 2016. He retired recently and is still engaged in that part of the world. "He is currently the Pershing Chair in Strategic Studies at the Center for European Policy Analysis."

Thank you for pointing this out. The president of Poland totally rubbed it in slamming Russia with the katyn forest Massacre and fighting communism in 1919-1920 and the Polish uprising. We also can't forget about solidarity and how the Pope from Poland helped bring down communism.
He basically said Russia is not our friend and can't be trusted. Poland is at home with NATO.

Spent some time in Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. There's a lot of posturing going on, but all I see is two giants waiting to see who blinks first while we continue proxy wars elsewhere.
