I submitted my USREC package on the 14th of last month and was approved a day later. But ever since then the only response from my branch was my package was being screened for approval from the career branch. Has there been a backlog of sorts because of COVID-19? Or does it usually take this long for branch to make a decision? Thank you.

USAREC approved my packet and I had a school date one week later. Long story short, everyone’s situation is different

Thanks for the response SSG (Join to see)! Yeah, the more I learn about the process that seems to be the case. I'm glad it was a quick process for you. Thanks again.

It can take awhile, depending on how many packets need screening ahead of you, if any of those require any additional documentation, waivers, and same with your packet as well! Last guy I had volunteer his packet took like 90 days once it was where yours is!

There's NO exact timecrane. Mine took 60 days. That was 30 years ago. What I didn't know was that I was jumping from the pan into the fire. Very tough job and mission EVERY MONTH!

Thanks for the response SFC James Corona ! Oh I agree probably the hardest billet I have ever done. Of course that was with the navy but I miss it as crazy as that sounds. But thanks for reaching out.
