I had the honor of serving under General Kroesen when he was USAREUR Commander. He earned the coveted CIB with two stars (third award). MAJ Alvin B. I remember in 1982 everyone talked about his comments on the attack by the Baader-Meinhof group. He was said to have been glad he was hit by an RPG rather than a LAW rocket or it could have been worse!
