Even developing countries have had female Presidents or female Heads of State, yet we in the U.S. have had none so far. For example, Catherine Samba-Panza is acting President of the Central African Republic. Laura Chinchilla was President of Costa Rica for four years. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was President of Liberia. The list goes on!

There haven't even been any female Vice Presidents in our country!

We, in the U.S., with all the great universities for both men and women, the great chances for women, the great female 4-star Military Generals, female university professors, and our modernized life-style (or so it seems) have not yet had one single female president.

All of this is very sad! It is not good at all!

I have wondered about all of this for many years now. It has got nothing to do with the fact that Hillary Clinton is running for President.

I have my theories and opinions about this. What are your theories and opinions and what has to be done to change this?

To be frank, I don't care what color/creed/religion/gender/shoe size that our President is as long as he/she does the job well. :)

Lets not forget Angela Merkel of Germany and Margaret Thatcher of Great Britain, Indira Ghandi of India, Golda Meir of Israel, Benazir Bhutto of Pakistan. ALL energetic, and positive forces in their respective countries.

Personally, I have no issue with any person being our President, so long as they have the leadership abilities necessary to do the job. That being said, I believe it is putting the cart before the horse so to speak, to push the idea that we desperately NEED to elect the FIRST "bi-racial", "black", "latino", "woman", or "LBGTC" candidate. Electing someone based on this criteria is simply nonsensical, and puts secondary the leadership abilities necessary to actually do the job. In short, it'll happen when the right person comes along. My opinion respectfully submitted.

Thank you for your input. You did answer in a respectful manner! Absolutely!

And, you mentioned several more female Heads of State/Presidents from around the world! And, there are many more such females that neither you nor I have mentioned!

Of course a President (female or male, black/white/Hispanic/Asian, etc) should be elected because of his or her competency to lead a country and help it advance. Just in case this wasn't obvious: I never thought anything else! I just simply don't understand why there has not yet been a female POTUS and I wonder why there are not more women "up there", running to become POTUS right now!

This whole situation (so far we've only had male Presidents and currently the female candidates are still completely at a minimum) is so incongruent that it is suspect to me!

Perhaps it's just a peeve of mine but I find it irksome when I hear things like Hillary asking... Don't you want to set a woman President in the America?... As do that should be the only qualification. I remember in 2008, there were many displaying that same sentiment toward the election of then Senator Obama.

I look at elections much like I regard the markets. The consumer should be free to choose the products they believe will work best for them, and should not be coerced into buying products, or electing candidates based on anything other than their best use and value to the consumer, superfluous criteria aside. Regards

SPC Ei McS - You have shown more cojones with your logic non fear mongering reply. Me I will vote for a woman as President for the simple fact that I believe that she will do a better job.

No viable female candidates have bothered to run. I can think of a few that are better qualified than the charlatan knows as Hillary.

Most of the men running this time are just shiny turds. Real question is, why can't we get a President that is a genuine leader, rather than a corrupt politician?
