My active duty career had me serving with German Army twice, the Dutch Army, and the Italian Army. As the US Army had warheads prepositioned for use by our allies during the cold war. This gave us a chance to work side by side with NATO comrades. During that period I have earned three awards: The German Shooting Badge in Bronze, The German Rocket Artillery Badge in Silver, and I did the 4 Days March of Nijmegen with a platoon of Dutch soldiers from our Firing Battalion earning the 4 Days March Medal. So what awards have you earned, how did you get them?

i almost got this: The German Armed Forces Badge for Weapons Proficiency (German: Schützenschnur) is a decoration of the Bundeswehr, the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The decoration is awarded to German military personnel of all grades, but is only allowed to be worn by enlisted members. The German armed forces regulations point out, that "the Schützenschnur is a decoration for weapons proficiency for enlisted soldiers." Officers can receive the award, although it is not currently authorized to be worn on their uniforms. Foreign military members also may be awarded the badge, the German military regulation on officers still applies, permitting only the enlisted members to wear the badgeThe German Armed Forces Badge for Weapons Proficiency (German: Schützenschnur) is a decoration of the Bundeswehr, the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Germany.
