I am an Assistant ScoutMaster for a Boyscout Troop in Kansas. Have been working with scouting for several years and really enjoy mentoring and having an impact with the Scouts. My son will start his Eagle project this year (sometime...) and is something that I look forward to.

I have nearly 25 years of volunteer service to the comunity.  I have served as a Scouter for almost 10 years.  I have been appointed to boards and commissions, and been a member of service organizations.

It has been like another career; both one I love doing and adds to my overall experience.

One of the fastest growing trends among Veterans is the raise in volunteer hours given to different organizations from the veteran.  Personally I volunteer with several groups and organizations and I have found it to be a great way to continue helping out.

Congrats to your son on the start of his Eagle Scout project.  That young man has a long road in front of him but I'm sure he'll do a great job.

Scouting has been greatly helpful in focusing the lives of many, to include all 3 of my children (we are a scouting family). Thanks for the sentiments, they're appreciated!

I used to spend every other Thursday afternoon helping with the Food Pantry for AMVETS. I have also done the typical Habitat for Humanity, Special Olympics, etc event volunteer work.

I am hoping to find something new that I can sink my teeth into. WWP is very active here, so I have thought about that. I have also thought about working iwth local JROTC.
