Clearly Obama has been the worst. Leaders build consensus...something he has proven himself incapable of. Huge Reagan fan...but, I do admire FDR...although a liberal...he provided amazing leadership in a horrible era.

I grew up listening to Roosevelt on the radio & remember when McArthur was fired by Truman...later at BC Harry Truman visited us and gave one hell of a speech to the students. Then we gave him a tour of the campus and got to chat with him at lunch..
In the middle of his speech somebody in the back of the auditorium yelled "Give Him Hell Harry" and he just laughed and said how he never went to college but has so many honorary degrees he did not have room on his office wall for them....Then during the walk around campus he said BC was beautiful and so were many of the female students..

Sgt Tom Cunnally, I agreed with Lincoln and Washington, but Reagan at 10 and Carter at 25? I would have never thought Carter was in the top 25.

Don't forget the Camp David accords/Egypt-Israel peace treaty and airline deregulation; Carter had a couple good years.

CW4 Guy Butler - Ok Chief but Carter blamed Teddy Kennedy for his defeat to Reagan and that made him persona non grata in most of the nation

Truman always gets a high score on these things because he is perceived as a tough, no nonsense kind of guy. In fact, he directed US troops to be sent to Korea because of the ‘Red’ scandal in the State Department then ongoing. He didn’t want to look soft on communism. Sending US troops into Korea violated long standing US policy.

From the time of the United States coming on to world stage about 1900, it was the policy of the US government to (not a line from a movie) not get involved in a land war in Asia. And if you notice, no large US force was engaged in Asia prior to 1950.

Bad Truman! Bad!

Notice also that Truman was a one term president. He couldn't get reelected on his own merits.

"no large US force was engaged in Asia prior to 1950. "

What about the Pacific War 1941 - 1945.. US Forces were heavily engaged in Asia

The Navy & Marines were engaged in China before WWII in the 30s The Navy had one of their ships sunk and the China Marines took fire on several occasions in China and returned fire ....Both took casualties in these skirmishes in China...

Capt Walter Miller - Truman served two terms from 1945 -1953... He was re elected in 1948 for a second term after defeating Sen Tom Dewey...
