With all the serious discussion on here, let's lighten the conversation. Do we have any members that got the ole Stop Loss? If so, how did you hear about it? If you care to, tell us how did it impacted your current situation.

How far back do you want to go MSgt Erik Copp, in the prep for Operation Desert Storm I had been passed over twice for promotion and should have been forced out as a CPT; but, I was kept on because I was supporting the pre-war planning efforts.
I was forced out the next year and accepted a commission in the Army reserves. With the help of three General Officers I was promoted to LTC in April 2000 the month before mandatory retirement as a a MAJ. Because I was a LTC I was able to support this nation after 9-11-2001 and served for 3 1/2 years mobilized and several years after as drilling IMA where I was able to train many other officers and some NCOs on what I was an expert on as well as mentor many other officers.

That's a good ways back brother. Desert Storm was right at the beginning of my career. Sounds like You were able to have an impact on a lot of people. As old retired guys, it's nice to know that we had an impact. I was stop losed in 03, probably the best thing to happen to me. I re-enlisted during my stop loss.

MSgt Erik Copp - I am glad you were able to enlist during your stop loss. I expect you have been able to mentor many more Marines since that original stop loss date.
