I'm assuming that from these comments that I'm in the minority but as a pvt no one ever told u about uic...heck we didn't even have erb' s it was called 2-1/2A... With that being said with units deactivating and once a unit is gone there isn't a way to get a UIC...would u still say that soldier doesn't care or the system has evolved?

While I have not sat on a centralized promotion board (I look forward to it, though), if I saw an ERB missing information, whatever the information, I would question this NCO's dedication to their or their Soldiers records.

This would not be a reason to score someone from a '6' to a '5', but incomplete records, in my opinion, sends a clear message that the NCO simply doesn't care.

MSG Odom - that is what I did as well. I simply updated/found my old UICs and had S1 input them. It turned out that some of them were reflagged (new unit), so in this case, they manually input the line data so that it matched my records.

I ran into that problem when getting my records ready for the SFC board. I ended going through all my personal records and found PCS orders for the units that had been inactivated and ultimately had my ERB updated for completeness. I agree with MSG Quick, it's the Soldier's responsibility to keep their info updated and there is more than one way to skin that cat...

If you download and save your ERBs every so often (I do it monthly) you will always have unit information. Also, you can compare previous to current ERBs to note any discrepancies. I have ERBs where my college education disappeared one month, only to reappear the following month. This has happened several times, as the HR systems can and do "hiccup."

Not sure, but could be viewed as having incomplete records, not taking the time to have all the blanks filled in.  I am interested in what some SGM/CSMs have to say that have possibly sat on a DA board.
