If we don't, we get criticized; If we do, we get criticized; So let's intervene, do the right thing, and get criticized!!!

We were swift to respond in the 30's-40's with the persecution of the Jews, have we lost our sensibilities for the plight of this particular group of people to be selfish in our own affairs? It seems we have opened the flood gates for one group but closed the window for the other group.

Actually, we only entered WWII when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. The persecution of the Jews wasn't a factor. We were reactive in self defense, we didn't rush to anyone's aid...

Very true, the bombing of Pearl Harbor brought us into WW2, however the atrocities that were occurring in Europe and Nazi Germany, were a topic of discussion. Once we entered the war and the first hand accounts of what happened in Europe became more of a talking point then what led us into the war, is my opinion on this. A follow up question as well, we built for a lack of a better term "concentration" camps in CA and forced US Japanese citizens onto these camps. Are we guilty of the same atrocities as Germany?

Germany modeled their concentration camps after the program the U.S. used on the American Indians, including the reservations and the withholding of food. Hitler was especially interested in Bosque Redondo where 3,500 Navajo were basically starved to death.

We didn't stand up to Hitler in the 1930s or 40s. We don't have the high moral ground on this, either now or in history.

In addition, it is not the place of the U.S. to launch a religious crusade.

Absolutely nothing. Let's leave the Crusades in the past...
