Where can I find information on the 112th Signal out of Homestead AFB (HARB)? What is it like being stationed there? 2022-06-23T09:41:48-04:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 7740603

Does anyone have any information on 112th Signal out of Homestead, FL?
I'm reenlisting for it because, well, it looks awesome, but I was wondering if anyone has any idea what its like being stationed there? I imagine they support SOCSOUTH for SOUTHCOM (i.e. lots of opportunities to do stuff in South and Central America). However, my impression of Homestead is not good. It's not located in a great location, for South Florida, as Kendell County was still in recovery mode from Hurricane Andrew (1992) and that was when I was stationed at SOUTHCOM (which is about 40 min north of Homestead in Doral) in 2007-10. I visited Homestead several times and while there are tons of nice things close by (Miami, Key West, Ft Lauderdale), Homestead itself is not a desirable location (for me anyway). On the other hand, you're 3 hours from Key West, with a beautiful drive through the Keys, all of which is one of my favorite places in the world. I was there from 2013 to 2016 as a 25S. I wouldn't be where I am today without this place. Things might be different there nowadays, but otherwise, as far as I know, the mission is still the same. As long as you prove yourself as a critical asset to the team, you'll more than likely spend time as a SATCOM Team NCO and constantly supporting something. If you want to know more, just send me a DM and I can share my experiences with you there.
