We just PCSd last year. Dover was a great area. The base is small and doesn't cater to the 24hr ops personnel but isn't that bad. The BX is small because off base is tax free. Base housing was great, the housing office does a lot for preschool children and are always pretty helpful. Contradicting to that I would have lived off base if I could do it over. Travel is awesome, you can go most anywhere on your weekends. Seeing the Amish culture is pretty cool. I could go on forever.

Go to BJ's in Rehoboth. Don't leave your house during NASCAR weekends, Lots of near by beaches, but it's brown water beaches and in October the horseshoe crab come up on land to mate and die apparently. Your within 3 hrs drive from Baltimore, DC, NY, PHI, and not far from Virginia Beach.

Also.. Get a philly at Capriotti's! If the Touchdown lounge is still around, they have great lobster bisque.

I'm at Dover now. Only been here for a few months though. The area it is quite small but all in all its not bad. I live in base housing and really like it. The beaches just south of here are great and it's a good place to be to travel. Any other questions just let me know sir!
